Homeowner Bathroom Hacks: BRILLIANT Bathtub Solution
Real estate agents see some pretty surprising things when we’re out showing houses. I tell my buyers that it’s always an adventure and no two days are the same. Homeowners can be quite innovative with the DIY hacks they employ, and this is not limited to the Lake Wallenpaupack / Lake Ariel market! Agents all over the country see all kinds of fun stuff!

My new favorite homeowner bathroom hack was discovered by Nashville agent Debbie Marshall DeLoach. What she and her buyers didn’t see at first in this bathroom was the real surprise.
While showing a home to her buyers, Debbie came across what looked like a custom built bench with drawers in the bathroom. There was no tub, just a shower.
The bench simply seemed like a smart addition to the room—not only a great place for additional storage, but also to sit while you finish getting ready for the day. The area was nicely staged with towels and flowers and fit in with the rest of the bathroom decor.
The SECRET SURPRISE
Here’s the fun part! Debbie and her clients moved the towels off the lid of the bench to see how much it could store. To their surprise, they found…

…a hidden bath tub! This is one of the most brilliant homeowner bathroom hacks yet! You can store lots of stuff in there! This would be an extreme couponers paradise; imagine all the toiletries you could stock up on and hide right there. Handy, right?
Many people want to do away with bathtubs and simply have a shower instead. But even if you don’t use the tub, it definitely could be a feature other buyers, especially those with children, will want when it’s time to sell your house. I’ve come across that time and time again, even when people are buying a Lake Wallenpaupack vacation home…some people really want a tub! Others don’t. You can’t please everyone. Or, can you?

Rather than remove the tub, why not build something beautiful, practical, and functional and make both kinds of buyers happy? Think outside the box, and consider building a box to create an awesome new feature in your house that will have broad appeal?
