What’s A KW BOLD Graduate and WHY Should You Care?

After 16 years as a Realtor in the Lake Wallenpaupack area, I thought I knew everything there was to know about real estate. But boy, was I wrong.

 

I am so excited to announce that I’m a recent graduate of the Keller Williams BOLD (Business Objective, Life by Design) program! Let me tell you, it was quite the experience.

First of all, let me paint a picture for you. I’m a seasoned real estate agent in the Lake Wallenpaupack region of the Poconos in Pennsylvania. It’s a beautiful area about 2 hours or less (give or take) from the NYC metro area. We have crystal-clear lakes surrounded by lush forests and charming small towns. We pride ourselves on peace and quiet. But the Pocono Mountain area is also a very competitive real estate market, which is why I knew I needed to up my game by taking BOLD.

Let me start by saying that KW BOLD is no joke. Seven weeks of intensive training, live classroom sessions, role-playing exercises, and coaching from experienced trainers – it was a lot to take in. But even as a seasoned Realtor, I found BOLD to be incredibly valuable.

One of the biggest things I took away from BOLD was the emphasis on mindset. As Realtors, we face rejection all the time. It’s just part of the job. But the program taught me to approach those setbacks with a growth mindset – to be positive and to see every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. That’s a perspective that I plan to carry with me in all aspects of my business moving forward.

But mindset is just the tip of the iceberg. BOLD also covered a range of practical skills and techniques that I can apply to my work with clients. For example, we spent a lot of time talking about lead generation (finding buyers for our listings). In the Lake Wallenpaupack region, there’s a high demand for lakefront and other properties, but it can be a challenge to find the right buyers and sellers. Through the BOLD program, I learned effective strategies that will help me connect with the right people and make the most of my marketing efforts.

Another area covered was sales skills. Selling anything, let alone selling real estate, is not always easy. I learned new ways to effectively build rapport with clients, how to ask the right questions, and how to answer their questions and concerns. By improving my relational skills, I can help my clients feel more confident in their decision to buy or sell a lake house in the Poconos.

And let’s not forget about marketing. In today’s digital age, it’s more important than ever to have a strong online presence. Through BOLD, I learned new ways to optimize my website and social media profiles, create engaging content, and run targeted ad campaigns. By improving my marketing skills, I can help my home sellers reach a wider audience and increase the chances of finding the perfect buyer for their lake house.

All of these skills and techniques are incredibly valuable on their own, but what I appreciate most is how they all fit together. By adopting a growth mindset, improving my lead generation, sales, and marketing skills, and staying focused on my clients’ goals, I can offer a more personalized and effective service that will help them succeed in the competitive Lake Wallenpaupack real estate market.

Now, I know what you might be thinking – “16 years of experience and you needed a program to teach you this stuff?” But hear me out. Real estate is an ever-changing industry, and it’s important to stay up to date on the latest trends and techniques. The BOLD program was a great way for me to do that while also fine-tuning the skills I already had.

But more importantly, completing the BOLD program has given me a newfound sense of enthusiasm for my work. It’s reminded me why I got into this business in the first place – to help people find their dream homes and make the most of their investments. And now, armed with the skills and mindset I’ve gained through the program, I feel more equipped than ever to do just that.
