Basic Bitches | The Cooperage Project | 1030 Main St, Honesdale, PA | Friday, April 7, 2023, 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Get ready to rock out with The Basic Bitches, a riot-grrrl/garage rock duo hailing from Sullivan County, NY (and a couple of other places – they’re quite the jet setters!). Naomi is on guitar and vocals, while Krystal slays the drums and lends her voice to the mix. These gals write songs with killer hooks and choruses that are just begging to be shouted along to. If you’re a fan of Sleater Kinney, Screaming Females, Ex Hex, The Gossip, Wimps, Jesus Lizard, The White Stripes, and Joan Jett (who isn’t?!), then you’re going to want to be front and center for this show at The Cooperage Project. Make sure you catch the opportunity to experience The Basic Bitches in action – it’s going to be a wild ride!
Real Gone, an indie/punk music blog, praised a garage rock album, highlighting the duo’s musical skills, especially the sliding between snare and cymbals in “…Lights” and the 60s flirtations in “Cat At The Party.” The blog also noted that the duo’s ability to incorporate personal lyrics sets them apart from simply recycling old garage rock/riot grrrl/punk noises, making the album a brilliant release. Check it out on TheCooperageProject.org.

Are you prepared for an epic mind-expanding experience of psychedelic rock and roll? by some far-out psychedelic rock and roll? Look no further than One-Eyed Jack, the band that’s been shaking up stages across the US for over 30 years! It all started back in ’91 with guitarist Gary Gallagher and his trusty psychedelic garage band jamming in the parking lots of Grateful Dead concerts. When bassist/lyricist Adam Riley joined the crew, the music became even more powerful, and their song repertoire doubled. And let’s not forget about the fiery presence of vocalist/lyricist Rosie Lazroe, who brings both fire and lightning with her dynamic voice and killer songwriting skills.
But wait, there’s more! The rhythm section is driven by Vincent Smith on the drums, who takes his beats beyond the technical and into transcendent spaces. Guitarist/vocalist Pete Tonti dazzles with his unique playing style, adding extra power to the vocals. And last but not least, keyboardist/vocalist Joe Biglin adds colorful textures to the music with his wizardry on the keys and powerful singing.
Through various lineup changes and style shifts, One-Eyed Jack has kept their original sound alive and well. Their heartfelt lyrics touch on both the spiritual and the surreal, making for an unforgettable musical experience. All ages are welcome to join the party, but you gotta be 21+ to drink (ID required, of course). Get your tickets now for just $20 in advance or $23 on the day of the show. Don’t miss out on this psychedelic journey with One-Eyed Jack!
