Tannersville Bog Walks
Date: June 19, 2024

Location: Tannersville Cranberry Bog Preserve, Cresco, PA
Explore the unique Tannersville Cranberry Bog on a guided walk. This bog, once a vast glacial lake, boasts 60 feet of accumulated peat. It hosts diverse flora such as calla lilies, orchids, and carnivorous plants, and provides habitat for various mammals, including bears, otters, and bobcats. Managed by The Nature Conservancy, local volunteers, and the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, the bog is accessible only via scheduled tours, with trails open for self-guided walks in the surrounding woods. Learn about the bog during this 2.5-hour tour on a floating boardwalk. Pre-registration is required and walk-ins will not be accepted. More Info.
