This program is designed with your little ones in mind. It’s a perfect opportunity for kids ages 4 to 13 to learn about environmentalism and conservation through a read-aloud story by a Forest Service Ranger. The reading will be followed by a hike to the Fire Tower, a fun and educational adventure for the whole family to enjoy together.
Parents or guardians are required to remain with children during this program. The Reading Ranger Program will be held at the lower pavilion, located at the lower parking lot of Grey Towers.  More Info.

Adventure into paleontology with a hands-on dino dig! This is not just a fun family-friendly event, it’s an educational experience. We will learn about Mr. Nixon, a Triceratops discovered in 1996! After doing our own dig, we will help construct a dinosaur on a large cut-out and learn about the discoveries that the Strakas made in South Dakota. Join the Pike County Conservation District and Pike Wayne Conservation Partnership for a free event at the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center! Get answers to burning questions like “How do I get my well water tested?” “How do I protect myself from ticks?” “Are solar panels right for my home?” and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for new and established homeowners in the area to connect with local organizations, learn about environmental resources, and get all your environmental science questions answered in one place. You’ll also be able to take home native pollinator plants, Pike County outdoor recreation maps, and more for free (while supplies last).
