Hey, Poconos and Lake Wallenpaupack locals, it’s me, your girl Karen Rice, and I’m back again to give you the lowdown on the exciting events coming up in our neck of the woods this weekend. If you want to do something fun this weekend, look no further. I’ve got a great mix of outdoor activities, boat sales, chocolate tours, dance parties, and more. March Moonlight Hike | Lackawanna State Park South Shore Parking Area | 1839 N Abington Rd (Route 407) North Abington Township PA | March 31, 2023, | 5:30 pm

First, let’s venture into neighboring Lackawanna County because we’ve got the March Moonlight Hike at beautiful Lackawanna State Park (meet at South Shore Parking Area). This hike is for hikers of moderate ability, and it’s perfect for anyone who loves to explore the great outdoors. Bring your headlamps and snowshoes (if conditions warrant) and join us for a 2.5-3.5 mile hike under the moon at our Quarry Ridge and Meadowsweet Preserves. Expect to be out for 1.5-2 hours, and leashed pooches are welcome too! The Moonlight Hike is free of charge, and no prior registration is required. Just show up and have fun. If you’re a coffee and chocolate lover, you will want to attend the Moka Origins Free Tour in Honesdale. Every Saturday at 10 am and 2 pm, you can experience an immersive coffee and chocolate experience while you tour their factory. You’ll learn about where chocolate comes from, see how Moka handcrafts it from bean to bar right at the factory and taste their finished products made with cocoa and coffee beans. Crafters, unite! Plan to visit the 2nd Annual Craft Supply Swap at Hawley Public Library. Donate items to get an Early Bird Ticket & get the first crack at all the crafting goodies! Clean out your yarn or fabric stash, scrapbooking materials, children’s crafting supplies, quilting odds and ends, notions, silk flowers, beads, clay – anything usable by another crafter. Craft kits should be fully contained. IMPORTANT NOTE: all items must be dropped off in advance; no items will be accepted on Swap Day! OH WAIT, THERE’s MORE! I just remembered: it’s almost Wild Week at Glass Restaurant! Starting Sunday, April 3, through Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, you can enjoy dishes that are definitely different from the ordinary fare. This is great for hunters or those who simply want to try game cuisine without hunting for it themselves. Enjoy small plates featuring wild game meats like boar, bison, elk, venison, duck, frog legs, and more. Head over to Glass and let your taste buds run wild. Not “feeling” the wild game menu?
