2023 St. Paddy’s Day @Lake Wallenpaupack: Get Your Irish On

2023 St. Paddy's Day @Lake Wallenpaupack: Get Your Irish On

Get ready to don your finest green attire and brush up on your Irish accent because St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner!

Below you’ll find some awesomely Irish specials coming up in Hawley and Lake Wallenpaupack on St Paddy’s Day 2023. And trust me; you don’t want to be the one who forgets to wear green and gets pinched by your mischievous friends.

But before you start practicing your “Top of the morning to ya” and “Sláinte” greetings, let’s clear up one thing – it’s St. Paddy’s Day, not St. Patty’s Day. Yes, you heard that right, folks. Paddy, with a “d,” not Patty, with a “t.” Why? Because Patty is a nickname for Patricia, Paddy is the nickname for Patrick. Hey, I don’t make the rules; blame the Irish!

Now, we can’t talk about St. Paddy’s Day without mentioning the iconic green beer. You can turn your favorite brew into a festive emerald green concoction with just a few drops of food coloring. And speaking of beer, don’t forget to indulge in some traditional Irish grub to soak up all that liquid courage. Corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, Irish soda bread, and the classic potato are all must-haves for any St. Paddy’s Day feast.

Not in the mood for cooking? Fear not! Many local pubs around Hawley, Honesdale, and Lake Wallenpaupack have put on the green and are sure to have you covered…here are just three to consider. Grab a pint of Guinness and enjoy some live Irish music while you offer cheers to your lucky shamrock.
