Where to Eat: Weekly Spotlight

The Settlers Inn, Hawley

Open for dinner all week. Elevate your evening after a day on the lake. This local landmark delivers a uniquely refined atmosphere and exquisite fine dining.

Check future editions of Lake Wallenpaupack Week Ahead for more local dining recommendations.

Fun On The Water This Week

In addition to the Wally 100 Centennial Kickoff, Memorial Day Weekend is always the kickoff to the summer season. Time to get out on the big lake! The public boat launches are open, and the marinas around the lake are running rentals if you do not have your own boat up here yet. Bring layers and wood for the firepit. Late May on Wallenpaupack can swing twenty degrees between the morning and the afternoon.

FISH FOR FREE Sunday May 24, 2026 (and again on July 4).  Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on the designated days with NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED (Trout/Salmon permits are also NOT required). Importantly noted: all other fishing regulations still apply.

That concludes this week’s summary of things to do around the area. I will post the next edition of Lake Wallenpaupack Week Ahead on Friday May 29, 2026 for the week of June 1 – June 7, 2026.

Thinking past the weekend?

If you are up here for the holiday and find yourself wondering what a place on this lake actually costs, or what the difference is between true waterfront and lake rights, that is the kind of thing I answer all day.
